Alejandro González Valdés was born in Havana, Cuba. He graduated as a Sound Recordist Assistant of Cinema and Audiovisuals from the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC). He worked in the sound post-production of the Cuban films: El Benny (2006), La Pared (2006), Mauricio’s Diary (2006), and Madrigal (2007). Later, he moved to the United States where he earned his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Film Television and Digital Production from the School of Entertainment and Design Technology (SEDT) at Miami Dade College (MDC). “Chess” (2019) is his first short film.
