Jia Zhang-Ke

Jia Zhang-Ke was born in Fenyang, Shanxi Province of China. His debut feature Xiao Wu (1998) premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, receiving the NETPAC and Wolfgang Staudte Awards. Since then, his films have routinely premiered at the most important international film festivals. 24 City (2008) and Mountains May Depart (2015) were also official selections of the Miami Film Festival. Ash Is Purest White (2018) premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
