Miami Film Festival’s legendary Opening Night Gala Party returns this year to its traditional home, The Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building, presented by The Tilia Family of Companies. The annual scene to be seen, the 2019 Opening Night edition is sure to bring more of the epic adventures, sensational libations and wild entertainment that has become the stuff of Miami Film Festival lore. Inspired by the silver screen, this year partygoers can literally “Wish Upon A Star” — as in Estrella Damm, the Festival’s new official beer from Barcelona, Spain. Although…it’s much more than just a beer! It’s a taste of Mediterranean culture itself. Partnered with the mouth-watering culinary creations of three of Estrella Damm’s favorite Miami chefs with the sparkles of el circo overhead, the Estrella Damm vault will be a speakeasy in and of itself that you’ll be hard-pressed to leave.

Let’s start again with another debut, as “The Night Begins with Botran,” the superb Guatemalan Aged Rum acclaimed for its rich oak flavor and subtle hint of the sweet, the basis for a delicious montage of cocktails awaiting you on all sides of the dance floor. A perfect way to toast the wave of the future, as foretold by our Opening Night Film this year, This Changes Everything. All that glitters at the Alfred I. Dupont Building is indeed gold — and this goes for the lush tropical and strongly vivacious vibe set by our wonderful poster art this year, by Spanish artist Ana Juan. Mix ‘n’ mingle with the filmmakers and stars from tonight’s opening and all the attending artists whose work you’ll be discovering over the entire first half of the Festival. Miami Film Festival is turning 36 this year and is in rare and prime form – bursting with art, love, life and music. Join us!
